Safari Video doesn't mirror in full screen to Apple TV

Unless it's a specific app like IOS Youtube, I cannot get my iPhone to either airplay video (it wants to airplay music instead) OR even Mirror the screen in full screen. With Youtube there IS a native airplay protocol built in from the screen without having to swipe down, but I cannot for the life of me get a video in Safari to do the same. There are some complex buggy workarounds involving Picture in Picture mentioned but they all lead to loss in video quality and stuttering.

Has anyone got a simple solution.

Not getting full screen video: Note that the modern iPhone screens are not precisely 16:9. So screen mirroring needs to give way somehow and apply some correction. This is then done by adding extra black bars.

Not getting AirPlay option for just the video in Safari on mobile: If you play web video in “full screen” on iPhone (use the expand icon, not PiP) (you may need to tilt from portrait to landscape to get the largest display fill), then you would get overlay playback controls that may included an AirPlay icon. Try using that.
