My iPhone 12 Pro Max location is jumping around in Maps

My iPhone location randomly, momentarily jumps to different locations. It then jumps back to my current location. This triggers our “Arrival home” requests in the Apple home app multiple times every day.

I have verified my iPhone is up to date and restarted my phone but it still happens.

My wife is not having this issue at the same location on her iPhone.

My iPhone is a 12 pro max running iOS 17.4.1.

rriewerts ~ A variety of 'glitching' behaviours can occur when the battery is weak from age and recharging cycles. Your iPhone 12 Pro Max could be 3½ years old, so...

Does your iPhone still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging

rriewerts ~ Around 80% is the level Apple suggests for replacing the battery. However, that Max Capacity % is just an algorithmic approximation of a dynamic chemical process — so yours could be lower than that apparent 85%. At any Apple store they have a device which definitively determines battery health.

...Considering that original battery's likely age, it's going to soon develop other 'glitches'. If it were me, I would have the battery replaced before it's really on its last legs and perhaps forcing you to replace it at an inconvenient time.
