Apple Log video on iPhone 15 Pro is recording only in 8 bit instead of 10 bit

I don't know how this is even possible since Apple Log is only accessible by recording in ProRes, and I know ProRes is specifically designed to be a 10 bit 422 capable codec. I've tried checking and unchecking any related and unrelated video options in the camera settings that I could think of incase this was tied to a random toggle option, i've tried the third party BlackMagic Cam app in the different ProRes codecs that app offers, but any video I record in Apple Log on my iPhone 15 Pro reads as 8 bit 420 in Davinci Resolve and and sony Catalyst Browse. This is also supported by the massive amount of blocking and color banding that reveals itself if I use a Lut or a CST to get the footage into a rec 709 colorspace. I should also mention I did manage to get an 10 bit file out of the iPhone by shooting in HDR instead of Apple Log but of course then I lose all of the specific benefits of a Log format. Is there something I'm Missing?
