Deleted repeat events keep re-appearing after I delete all repeated events. How can I permanently delete those events?

Delete from Source Calendar (if applicable):

  • If the repeated events come from an external calendar subscribed to on your iPhone, deleting them from the source calendar itself might be necessary.

  • Check the settings of your Calendar app to see if the events are subscribed from another calendar source.

  • If so, log in to that source calendar (iCloud, Google Calendar, etc.) and delete the repeated events there. This should then sync and remove them from your iPhone calendar as well.

Try a Forced Quit and Restart:

  • Sometimes a simple app refresh can resolve glitches. Try these steps:

  • Force quit Calendar app: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or double-click the home button on older iPhones) to reveal open apps. Swipe up on the Calendar app preview to close it forcefully.

    • Restart your iPhone: Hold down the side button and either volume button until the power off slider appears. Slide to power off. Then, hold the side button again to restart your iPhone.

Delete Calendar Account and Re-add:

  • In some cases, a corrupted sync with the calendar source might be causing the issue. Try deleting and re-adding the calendar account on your iPhone:

  • Open Settings > Calendar.

  • Tap on "Accounts".

  • Select the calendar account where the repeated events are located.

  • Tap "Delete Account".

    • Once removed, re-add the calendar account following the on-screen instructions.

4. Check iCloud Calendar Settings:

If you're using iCloud Calendar, ensure events are properly syncing across your devices. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud and toggle "Calendars" on.
