Device ownership, apple ID, and why won't my password work?

  1. I have an old Ipad from my wife.
  2. Under the Itunes settings it says the Ipad's Apple ID is my Email.
  3. I downloaded apps under my account years ago and it worked, but Apple may still have device listed as my wife's. IDK if this matters, if there are new restrictions on ownership, I just need to install an app for new job.
  4. I forgot password and just reset my password. I logged in on computer with no problem.
  5. The Ipad is not listed under devices.
  6. I can not d/l anything on Ipad because it says my password is incorrect.

If you transferred the iPad without performing a reset, the old and new contents will be intermixed and the appropriate Apple ID used for each, or delete whatever piece is owned by the other ID and re-download it under the now-preferred ID.
