Sandisk 500GB SSD not showing up on desktop on Macbook Air M1

One day my Sandisk 500GB SDD drive stopped showing up on my desktop. It just all of a sudden stopped showing up. I also have another Sandisk 1TB and that one is showing up with no issues. So both ports are fine with reading my other one. I also plugged in my SSD into my roommates windows computer and it didnt show up as well. so if it doesnt show up on either, am i just SOL? Im using the original cord as well, and have tried other cords too and still nothing. Bare with me, this is the first time I've written anything on here. Any help is appreciated.
