why does an email arrive without the pictures in it, but when I print it the pictures are there?

That says it. The email is sent to about a dozen people. The others receive it with pictures, but there are no pictures in mine. There are white spaces where the pics should be. But when I print the email the pictures are in place. My app is Mail.
