My iPhone 15 pro max is currently stuck on the critical alerts screen. I have tried to reset using the volume buttons and holding down the side button, but I am unable to slide the power off icon, so that will not work. Please help!

A forced restart is the way to go for this issue, you're telling that that is not working?
To force restart Press volume up ( release immediately ) then down ( same way ). After this hold the side button until you see the Apple Logo
