Apple Watch Family Member App Store download not working

Hi,

I set up an Apple Watch for a family member.

I want to download an app (Dare the Monkey. Go Bananas) straight to the watch. When I click “get” it is asking for Apple ID verification / my password. When I enter the password it takes me back to the app and ask to click the side button 2 times. Then it says “processing…” and it takes me back to the settings app. The result is the app has not been downloaded and I have to start from scratch only to get to the same place.

I have tried: shutting down the watch; forced restart by holding the 2 button for 10sec; updated the software.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
