I have an VW Atlas as do hundreds of others, we all have a major problem using any of the GPS app’s available for the iPhone when the phone is connected to the car with CarPlay. VW can’t find a solution until the middle of next year, yes 2025. Does anyone have any thoughts that might help fix the problem?

I am having the exact same issue. Was absolutely lost yesterday as I am totally reliant on the map apps. Someone has suggested switching off the car play which defeats the whole purpose of having car play. Others on reddit are suggesting a new module from the VW dealership.
I just lost use of both, the Apple Maps, and google maps app, as of 5-10-24. I use the USB port in the lower compartment in the console, which I have been using for years now. Tonight when connecting the iPhone 13, both maps loaded, but didn’t not have navigation sound. So I disconnected the phone, turn off car, opened the door, then restarted car and reconnected, and still no sound. Got in car after show, and connected phone again, and no apps would load now. Something happened today at VW that no longer recognizes the iPhone car play.
