How can I fix the export error in Photos app?

Getting this error - please help! I can't seem to export many photos from Photos, they should be stored in Icloud."Failed to download CPLResourceTypeOriginal for AUiyGlSVcbJGcUZDVJqlPArinU1I#PrimarySync (Record not found)

This is on an Imac, using the photos app to export photos (so I can make a photo book).

I'm not sure what you mean by "they should be stored in Icloud." Photos Libraries must be stored on a Mac formatted drive (internal or external) hard wired to the Mac. A Photos Library can't work from a network drive, cloud storage, or over wifi. Do you think that your Library is on iCloud Drive? That could explain the problem. If you see your Photos Library on iCloud drive, drag it back to the Pictures folder on you Mac. (This will require no more storage on your Mac-- it's already hidden there, somewhere.) Then double click on the Library, and see if it works.

When you double click "Photos Library new," does your library open as usual?

I know you're on an iMac, but what operating system are you using?

How are you doing this "exporting?" Do you open Photos, select pictures, and then choose File>Export from the menu? Where do you want to export to-- a folder on the Desktop? Exactly what steps are you going through when it doesn't work?

OK- That helps to know that the Photos app needs to draw from the local drive. I was under the assumption everything on Photos was just backed up to ICloud, and drew it from there (thus the "optimize storage" option- we have a small hard drive on our Imac). I don't see a photos library in my ICloud drive.

So how do I "get" those photos from Photos to export to another source, then?
