Missing playlists on iTunes Library MacBook Pro

When I open iTunes on my MacBook Pro, select the library, none of my playlists are there. They have been working fine for years.

I have also tried shift control clicking on iTunes, and it opens as usual, with no playlists

How do I fix this?

I just did a Google search for this issue, and I found this:

Re-open iTunes and hold option-key while doing so. Select the restored
library file. Your missing playlists should now show up in iTunes
again.

This allowed me to re-select my library, stored on an external drive, and all the playlists showed up, just like it was before.

It worked! Case closed.
