How does one stream audio and video via airplay *still while on a phone call?

I’m playing videos from

my iphone 15 pro max to my tv via airplay using the apple tv box while on a voice phone call, not facetime.

When I answer a call, the movies audio stops playing on the tv, plays on my iphone speaker.

How do I continue the audio from the movie playing from say iphone to airplay to the tv?

Apple tv was purchased about 4 years ago.

I would like audio and movie to play on tv, right now it’s just movie.

Is there any way around this or a setting on my iphone or a method?

Thankyou.

The non-legacy models Apple TV box [A1625 or later] have plenty of native apps available in the Apple TV App Store, that AirPlay is often a secondary option. Depending on what you were streaming, AirPlay may not be needed.

It may be different for the legacy model Apple TV [A1469 or earlier].

If you have an iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, then you might be able to AirPlay from that instead, freeing up your iPhone for other use.

The AirPlay 2 protocol is said to support doing AirPlay streaming and cellular calls simultaneously, but I don’t get enough calls during AirPlay to test that.
