Progress bar keeps restarting during macOS installation I am trying to reinstall macOS, I deleted and used first aid on my MacIntosh volume before starting the process. It’s currently showing an apple logo with a progress bar starting at 29 minutes left. At 16 minutes it restarts and goes back to 29 minutes. Ive tried to: Shut down the mac and retry the download. Used CMD + R and done a first aid check on the volume. Deleted the volumes once again and retried the macOS installation. After I tried to download macOS it showed me an error with the text written as an “startup/error”. After this occurrence I decided to use CMD + R again and retry the installation. I am currently stuck again on the progress bar that never seems to load. How do I fix this? I cant even use the laptop since it shows me the bar with the apple logo every-time I open it. Trying to perform a clean install on my 2013 Macbook Air and I'm unable to Prior to wiping it clean, my 2013 Macbook Air was running MacOS Sierra. Trying to reboot into Internet Recovery Mode (Option + Command + R) and receiving an error (apple.com/support and beneath the link it says -5101F). Going into Recovery Mode (Command + R), it brings me to disk utility. I'm unable to "Reinstall MacOS Sierra" as it keeps sending a notification stating "An error has occurred while preparing the installation" The left pane in the Disk Utility window shows the following: (Internal) APPLE SSD SM0128G MEDIA OS X BASE SYSTEM (Disk Images) Apple disk image Media OS X BASE SYSTEM So, no Macintosh HD. I've tried numerous things and am at a complete loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Some of the hardware has probably failed. What part failed, however?

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support (whether that even works as far back as 2006?)

If you want to spend money on a 2006, replacing what is probably a hard disk with a SATA SSD might be an option.
