How long are you down before Apple watch alerts someone?

I was complaining to a friend that my watch notifies family when I have NOT fallen, but I fell, with injuries, twice in the last two weeks and nothing.

She said the alert only happens if you are down for either two or five minutes and not if you can get back up in less than a minute.

Is this true?

Here is an article that may help you: Use Fall Detection with Apple Watch - Apple Support. It states:

If your Apple Watch detects that you're moving, it waits for you to respond to the alert and won't automatically call emergency services. If your watch detects that you've been immobile for about a minute, it will make the call automatically.
