passcode prompts you changed passcode recently when i didnt change it
this passcode prompt that i didnt change started when they dropped feature so randomly if you pick up phone or pad it would say this( you changed passcode recently enter new passcode to enable finger or facid ) HOWEVER, i had to factory reset at one point and it needed me to verify myself wasnt logged in to imessage or keychain so it would ask for phone passcode got incorrect then mac password incorrect old passcode incorrect recovery code incorrect recovery code from recovery person incorrect. i had same passcode on since last june. got back up running had to factory reset again it took me 5 and a half hours to get back in pad, it asked for phone passcode which was same one and that didnt work same recovery attempts . been going on for long time but got worse. got booted up to engineers and i hope 17.5 fixes this. it should be optional like advanced data protection and theft and loss feature. we write everything down so here i am acouple days away from update and still not sure its going to fix it . took a coupleof tries with tier 2 who told me some people were having this issue. ill be livid if i cant get in new ipad. it affected mini mac too and was able to get back in with recovery code on it because it would not accept phone passcode.UGHHHHHHHH! i want to scream and cant wait to get out of 17 been nothing but issues whole way through update after update. and if update doesnt fix theyll have to find another way around? i ididnt ask for this 72 hour go back to old passcode for those who dont write stuff down! i cant even os reinstall at moment. if reset all settings prompts start again.
get a note book for the people who cant remember their stuff! we write down everything date it and keep every old passwords recovery codes passcodes phone number changes. so glad i didnt have advanced data protection. this went across 3 different phones since october 17.2.1 and i am on 17.4.1 shakes head i am litterally pinned in corner. and NOT HAPPY. we even have security keys on devices
