I was thinking of buying the new Air model and I wanna know if I should get a new case for it or if it fits in the old’s model one since i saw they have (almost) the same dimensions.

It should fit, fine, since they are the exact same dimensions, however, the front facing camera on the new 11" iPad Air is on the landscape side of the iPad rather than the portrait side, which may be obscured by the case if it wraps over the front frame.

The only way to guarantee a proper fit would be to get the specific case that is designed to work with that iPad model. Not only are the case dimensions need to match, so do the various openings need to line up.
You can certainly try seeing if the older model's case will fit, but it would not be recommended.
