Go to your preferences, display and be sure mirror is set.

I never tried using the Mac keyboard. I always use an external keyboard.
Thank you. That worked. Now I'm trying to use the keyboard on my MacBook Air and have it show up on the Studio Display. So far, every time I open my MacBook (for the keyboard), the display goes away on the Studio Display except for the wallpaper.
