iPhone calendar not showing past events

When I search recent past events in my calendar on my iPhone 15 it shows up as “no result”. I have restarted my phone and my iOS is up to date. What am I doing wrong?

If your calendars are synched in iCloud, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Show All and disable iCloud Calendar. Restart the iPhone and turn on the setting again. Wait a certain time (it's unclear how long) for the calendar to be reindexed, which would make all the recent events (less than 1 year old) searchable.
