The cellular data on my iPad is greyed out

my ipad won’t let me turn on cellular data. it’s just greyed out. i’ve tried to turn it on, it doesn’t work. i don’t know what to do.

Iphone Cellular Data is greyed out. My phone's cellular data is greyed out. It also says cellular error in the settings. When I click on cellular, it says an update is required to use cellular data on this iphone. I have already updated the phone twice now, yet it still has this error.

Also, do you have a SIM card in your iPad?
