How can I configure the lockscreen to eliminate the "swipe left for camera" option in iPhone

The lock screen already contains a camera button - having swipe left do double duty for both clearing notifications and launching the camera doesn't make sense. How can I configure the lockscreen to eliminate the "swipe left for camera" option. This is redundant and causes problems when clearing notifications.
