Macbook Air fans are constantly running

Recently my Macbook Air's fan just goes and goes and goes. I have looked at the activity monitor/CPU and the only thing it's really showing is Chrome. After doing my own research, I took off the bottom cover to check for dust (it's clean) and removed the protective case on the bottom to allow for more airflow (didn't help). The only thing I'm running right now is Chrome and the temp says 100 C.

Any suggestions for getting it down to a regular temperature?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.5

Try and stop chrome to see if the issues persists. Chrome is known to be a browser that leans heavy on resources

After that you want to boot in the safe mode to see if the issues persist. If they don't persist, they're caused by an external piece of software, you want to evaluate the software Installed to your Mac

Start up your Intel-based Mac in safe mode

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key until you see the login window.
  2. Log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again.
  4. On either the first or second login window, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.
