Why is my Apple Pencil lagging in Procreate on iPad Pro?

My Apple Pencil pro is lagging on everything… and it’s getting progressively worse, been through everything with apple support and there’s a replacement on the way, I think there might be an issue with the pencil’s software lagging on the Bluetooth connection

I have exactly the same problem but with the new Ipad air and apple pencil pro. I tried forgetting device, turn off and on Ipad, delete and install procreate and it still has this lag and it is only on Procreate, while I am editing files everything is working just fine. I am just returning form the Apple reseller and they told me that the issue is on the procreate side and I don’t know what to think about all of this. A bit frustrated that I paid a quite amount for having such issue…

I think there is a problem with the Apple Pencil Pro.

It has worked perfectly for me so far. I have had the iPad for a month. Out of the blue it no longer works. This morning everything was fine. If I make quick strokes, nothing happens, or if I make short quick strokes. I tried that with the 6B pen, for example. Even

If I do the same thing with my fingernail, it works perfectly.

So there must be an error in the communication between the Apple Pro pen and the iPad.

What I don't understand is why this is suddenly happening.

You can't really draw properly anymore, and that's exactly why I bought the iPad.

And what's really funny is that while I'm writing this and have looked again at how strong the delay is, it's working correctly again. WTF!?

I thought I only had this issue on Procreate, but after trying Fresco and even the pencil on Apple Notes i have the same problem.

The zoom feature others are finding to fix problem did not work for me. A reboot of my iPad Pro M4 (with Apple Pencil Pro) will fix problem for a half hour or so until it goes back to original problem. I look forward to an update with fix for this problem.

FYI - My iPad has latest software.

I bought iPad Pro 13 m4 with no reflective glass.

The only app that I cannot use with the Apple Pencil Pro is Procreate.

• Sometimes doesn't work - does not leave any mark
• Sometimes the mark deletes itself while drawing it (quite weird behaviour)
• When trying to use the app, there is always lagging

I tried what is suggested (turning off Zoom, rebooting, and resetting the app) - but no changes, the app is totally malfunctioning with the Pencil Pro.

I guess an update is needed.

Please let me know what else I can do to use the app

Deleting an App will also delete the associated App data. By contrast, offloading an App will remove the App, but will instead preserve the App data on the device.

Just got a replacement pencil pro… same issues, heading to the Apple Store Thursday, already know replacing the IPad M4 isn’t going to solve the issues either since some people already went through that ‘solution’ as well.

I think Apple has a problem with these new IPad Pro’s, not a happy camper.

Ps closing ‘zoom’ in accessibility made the IPad even lag while using my finger, turning it back on made the whole IPad go crazy, tired of rebooting

I am having the same issue in Procreate and in pretty much every app that uses the Pencil Pro. I have the M4 13 inch with Nano screen. Today is day 14 and am debating returning for a standard screen to see if that helps, but from what I am seeing this is an M4 13 inch problem in general. Anyone find a solution yet? 6/19/24

Oh ok. I personally don’t need it. I don’t have the issues mentioned here with my Pencil Pro so I didn't realize a solution was already provided.

Just realized you were referring to turning off Zoom in Accessibility under settings

Same problems. Also can’t undo/redo in procreate app with pencil pro or finger.

pencil erases despite drawing button highlighted

canvass freezes then can re-size left hand side but not right side

used to be able to use pencil/hand during same session now it’s intermittent

Really disappointed so went back to my first Apple Pencil as didn’t require set up and works straight away…….but it didn’t work at all

I get that there are teathing troubles but showing how awesome these tools are during your conference I can’t help feeling I’ve been had

Same problem here, tried the deactivating the zoom but didn’t work. Apparently this is only affecting my Adobe Apps and Procreate but still very annoying, specially for my everyday creative work. I hope we get an update regarding this issue.

Deactivating the zoom didn't help me either.

I find it a cheek to sell me a device for almost 3000 euros, which has such elementary mistakes. I used to recommend Apple countless times and many listened to me. Since approx. 2 years I no longer recommend Apple or only with severe restrictions. But with the size that WE have given Apple in the meantime, they laugh at people like me.

Too bad and very disappointing.

Now I have an unusable iPad for 3000 euros here and have to do my work with my old iPad.

Same thing over here but its on EVERY app and progressively gotten worse. Cant use it for more than 10(used to be 20)minutes on the newest ipad air. Turning off zoom didnt help at all. Also when I try to do zigzags sometimes I just get straight lines, or when I leave it on the screen for .5 seconds I get thousands of random little lines in that spot which are very annoying.
