why does my iphone on focus does not ring calls from contacts which are in allowed contacts

I have set the settings for focus which i turn on when i’m sleeping. I have allowed 3 particular contacts in that, my parents and my wife. But when i turn on focus and if they call me, the calls are silenced but i get a notification. Why are the calls getting silenced even though they are in allowed contacts???? This is so annoying and frustrating, since because of this i couldn’t find out about 2 emergencies as the calls went to silenced.

below is the screenshot attached for my settings of focus.

You need to enable these contacts in Sleep Focus also. You have enabled it for DND.

With Focus, only one category like Sleep or Do Not Disturb can be active at a time. When Sleep Focus is on, Do Not Disturb is automatically disabled.
