“Allow Apps to Request to Track” is greyed out and nothing has worked to regain the ability to toggle.

Hi everyone!!

Some background info:

* I’m well over the age of 18

* I have owned my own unlocked iPhone 8 for many years.

* Today I updated my phone with the latest iOS software 16.7.8 which didn’t fix the problem.

* I’ve never agreed to any restrictions on my phone, I’m the only user.

I play mobile games online and need for certain apps to have the ability to track me and they have done so for months. Today, however, I received a message on one of my apps telling me to allow tracking in order to receive points.

Odd.

I went into settings and into “Tracking” and the option to toggle over to “yes” for “Allow Apps to Request to Track” is greyed out.

* I have shut down and restarted my phone several times.

* I have deleted, changed and reentered my date of birth several times.

* I updated my phone with the latest iOS software.

Please help me! I have so many other things I need to be doing. I can’t find any new posts about this issue but I’m really hopeful someone will know what I need to do.

Thanks in advance,

Christal
