Y axis auto scaling doesnt work for close stock prices

When I look at my stock price chart for certain stocks/funds in my chart I created, the y axis (stock price) scale should change automatically to the appropriate min and max values depending on the data set. When I am looking as a short period of time say 100 days back, the auto scaling does indeed work shown in screenshot 1. When I make the chart show me longer term data, it does not work shown in screenshot 2.

I would like chart in screenshot 2 to automatically change scale, but it doesnt. Does anyone have any solutions? Note, "amount bought" data points are on an independent axis.
