Changing my apple ID email address

Appleid.apple.com - won't let me delete off old email as says 'because device protection is turned on, some of your account information cannot be changed on the web. To change....use your other apple devices'. But when I try all my other devices, it says the same thing!

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

You must be at a known location to do this, or turn off stolen device protection

  1. Go to Settings , then do one of the following:
    • On an iPhone with Face ID: Tap Face ID & Passcode, then enter your passcode.
    • On an iPhone with a Home button: Tap Touch ID & Passcode, then enter your passcode.
  1. Scroll down and tap Stolen Device Protection.
  2. Turn off Stolen Device Protection.

if stolen device protection is turned off, you can change your Apple ID details without the need of being at a known location
