There’s a diamond shape icon to the right of my time in the upper left. What is this?

It looks like Voice Control as seen here:

Status icons and symbols on your iPhone - Apple Support

Are your using one of these Voice Control methods:

Turn off Classic Voice Control on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Use Voice Control on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
