After migration all my notes disappeared from the Notes app.

I recently purchased a new MacBook and used the migration assistant to transfer everything from my Mac Mini. Everything came across fine except Notes. I can see my notes on my iPhone, iPad, and in iCloud, but on my new MacBook there is not a single entry in the Notes app.

I'm up to date (Sonoma 14.5 (23F79)) on both machines. I have Time Machine backups from the old Mac and the new one, so I could restore from that, but I don't know what files to restore.

I also didn't see a way to dump Notes from my p;d machine and restore them to my new Mac.

I use Notes extensively, so I need this fixed.

TIA for any help.

Replying to give the solution I found. My sure you are logged in to iCloud. System Settings / Internet Accounts / iCloud. You should see your Apple Id and disk usage. In the Apps Using iCloud section, click more apps. Select Notes. Turn off and then back on Sync this Mac.

Hope this helps someone else.
