Linux on iPad 1?

My initial post was deleted for containing an"inappropriate link", so here goes with a link-free question.

Another post here answered the question of whether it is possible to install Linux on an iPad with the response "it is impossible". A simple search on the terms "Linux iPad" in this site will turn up that post.

A simple web-wide search on the same terms will turn up a Xitter post which indicates it can be done, for at least some models of iPad. Unfortunately, it did not explicitly mention the model of the iPad which I own --- the original iPad 1.

So my question is: is it possible to install Linux on an iPad 1 and, if so, how?
