When attempting to download an app on my iPad Air, it asks for an old email address
When I want to download an app it uses a very old address no longer being used on this iPad.

Make sure the correct Apple ID is at Settings > [name on top] > Media & Purchases.
In addition check in the App Store by tapping your User Icon to verify the Apple ID that is being used for purchases.
