I would like to keep my son's cellular service enabled to his watch so i can easily contact him. I don't want to rely on contacting him on an iPhone as I think he'll leave it laying around. He is an adolescent, so keeping a watch on him to communicate would probably be the best option but he would like to have an iphone at times to txt with ease as the iphone is easier for typing.

The cellular service provider would need to move the service to the iPhone via a sim card or eSim, and then you would need to set up the Apple Watch from that iPhone to share the service back, outside of the Family Setup you are using now.
