I have a smart TV and use the Apple TV app but cannot pick up watching a series or movie where I left off. Every time after I pause something and it goes to the home screen, it starts from the beginning. This is incredibly frustrating because I have to remember what episode and season I’m on and the time I stopped the show. Why doesn’t this work?

I was able to fix this on my TV by signing out and then signing back in. However, now the Apple TV app through the Roku device doesn’t work so I have to watch it through the Vizio home screen. This may be better in the long run so I can get rid of a remote.
Resetting the internet connection worked! And now I even have the continue watching feature. Yay!!! Thank you so so much.
