Short circuit i think?

Without using iCloud Photos, you will not be able to get the photos off of a device that is not working. And without a device backup, you will not be able to restore the photos back to a device. It is likely that they will wipe the iPhone.

Unfortunately, it is too late to back up the data on the phone. Backups have to come....before....disasters.

If the phone has been water damaged......as appears to be the case.....Apple will not repair the phone.....they will offer a refurbished phone at a reduced price.

Sorry, but this is going to be an expensive process with a painful lesson learned about the importance of backups.

Set up automatic backups on the replacement phone and you will always have a current copy of the data on your phone in case disaster strikes again.

Your ONLY reasonable hope is that there IS a backup.

iOS defaults to Automatic iCloud backups AND iCloud sync which can quite efficiently recreate your “old” phone on a replacement device.

Did you intentionally turn iCloud backups and iCloud sync’ing off ?

There is nothing to be done since you didn’t maintain a backup.

If your data is important t should be backed up.

once you break your device, it’s to late.
