Twitter (x.com) has a black background in Safari

On Firefox and Chrome, Twitter has a white background. Other sites on Safari do not have a black background. I have tried fiddling with settings on both Twitter and Safari, and I don't see a way to change this background, which makes it difficult to read the page and makes the scrollbar nearly invisible. I moved Twitter to Safari because it currently does not load in Firefox. This looks like a theme, but I see no place to select a theme in Safari. I am running macOS Sonoma 14.5 and Safari Version 17.5 (19618.2.12.11.6).

I hate this - it is literally painful and messes up my eyes!

I just figured it out, thank goodness! It's in settings under Accessibility, Displays, and Languages. Under Displays, choose Background > Default. Which is an interesting choice because the new default actually seems to be Lights Out (I know I didn't choose it!!!)

Hope this works for you!
