Apple Maps instructions in CarPlay in Chrysler Pacifica only going to side speaker

I’m renting a Chrysler Pacifica and have my iPhone paired to use CarPlay. Music plays great on the built-in stereo on the car. But navigation instructions from Apple Maps are going to a side speaker and can hardly be heard. I can’t find anything on Chrysler sites that tells me why this is. Anybody have any clues?

Car Play not giving navigation voice directions on Apple Maps I own a Mazda CX9 and my husband has an iPhone XR and I have a 13. His phone had no audio on GPS for Apple Car Play but mine has no problem. I think it might be an apple bug with the XR’s. I took the advice of some of the comments and switched over to Waze for him. Sure enough, audio worked on Waze and I am sure Google. So it does not work with Apple Maps. I guess we will have to wait for a fix.

google maps not giving verbal directions in car I use google maps for navigation in my car. Recently it won't give verbal directions so I have to follow on the map. I have tried in in my house and once I click on start I immediately get verbal directions but this doesn't happen when I'm in the car. I've checked that maps doesn't somehow get muted or that the sound is on high. - Anyone got any ideas to fix this?
