can’t turn off Find My iPhone

I can’t turn off Find My iPhone on my iPhone 14 pro.


I followed the detailed instructions but the switch is gray and cannot be turned off


1) Open Settings.

2) Tap [your name] > Find My.

3) Tap Find My [Device], then tap to turn it off.


I can’t continue to the next steps because the switch is gray and cannot be turned off


4) Enter your Apple ID password.

5) Tap Turn Off.

This is what worked for me when I needed to turn Find My iPhone off for a damage claim.


Go to Settings -> Face ID & Passcode -> enter your device passcode -> Stolen Device Protection and turn stolen device protection off. Then return to the Find My iPhone setting and turn it off.
