Airpods max flashing green light, won’t play audio while connected

i’ve tried charging them, factory reset them several times, but nothing seems to work. They still connect to my phone, but nothing plays. anyone know how to fix this? or are they cooked?

(also the additional info at the bottom is outdated, I have an iPhone 15 Pro running on iOs 17.1.2)
