2017 MacBook Air stuck in loop: Acts like it installs Monterey but stays on Big Sur
Hello Apple Community,
I have a 2017 Mac Book Air, recently reset to factory settings and it performs just fine. There is 79.38 GB of 121.33 available on Hard Drive. System Updates shows I can update to Monterey and I can I click through the prompts to download Monterey Installer. When I run the intaller, it acts as if it has installed Monterey and will restart, but always back in Big Sur. No error messages. Just back to Big Sur as if I simply restarted the computer. System Updates continues to show I can update to Monterey. I can run the Monterey installer over and over, stuck in this loop.
Any guidance on how to get the Monterey OS to install in this situation would be appreciated!
