Apple Watch back sensor peeling

I’ve had an Apple Watch Series 8 for 1yr 1mo, today taking off my watch I noticed a dark mark on the back that was actually the chrome coating on the sensor peeling off. I always keep my watch clean and don’t use harsh chemicals near it. If you ask me it is a defect on apples part. I checked my series 5 that I wore for YEARS and there’s no blemishes in that one. Does anyone else have this issue? Is this going to effect the watch capabilities?
