I am looking for a way to back up my MacBook Pro, using a memory stick of one terabyte and backing it up using Time Machine. It keeps quitting , saying the device was improperly ejected. When it still in the machine (it’s in a usb C port). Any suggestions on the causes ?

1) There are a lot of junky 1T Flash Drives on the market.

What is brand name of this 1T Flash Drive?

2) Flash Drives are not very reliable for full backups because they can not take the heat.

Even well known name brands tend to overheat during large copy jobs.

If you are really serious about backup, then you need to get a decent name brand 1T External Hard Drive.
