Sudden rise in temperature and loss of internet connection (MBP M1 2022)

Hi everyone. I hope all is well with you.

I've started experiencing something very strange this last week. It usually starts by losing internet connection (though the WiFi symbol in the upper field shows full connection), followed by a rise in temperature by about 10 degrees celsius.

I'm at a total loss, here. Has anybody experienced something similar? What could be the cause of this?

Edit: The problem fixes itself if I restart. Feel like I shouldn't have to restart the computer every time this happens, though. Especially not since it's been happening semi-frequently.

OS version is Ventura 13.6.7

Currently there are 31 files being run on startup and in the background of your computer just due to Intego. That is excessive and is needlessly consuming RAM and valuable CPU cycles.

As for why now, Intego updates its definition files automatically and any one of them can start to give you problems.

Be wary of third party sites that act as an App Store and offer many apps with someone of them simply being low quality and are not updated to further support discovered bugs or newer OS versions. Some of those apps would not be accepted into the Mac App Store for a number of reasons, so they are only available on third party sites where they do not have to follow any guidelines for submitting an app that are made to protect you.

Update to Sonoma for the latest OS.

Remove Intego and all of its other apps with the uninstaller they provide. It is not unusual for this app to not want to remove all of its files with the uninstaller, so following up with EtreCheck to make sure there is nothing else installing on startup is necessary. To further troubleshoot an internet connection issue, you will need to remove the software that is changing the normal operation of managing the connection.

Cleaners are not recommended.

I will eventually. Unfortunately updating the OS requires me to pay quite a hefty sum to update a good deal of third party audio software I use for work, so updating is doing to have to wait.

Okay, will do. I just don't understand why it started acting up now, all of the sudden. It's been working perfectly for almost two years, since I got the computer. Something must've happened.
