Searching for Specific Photos on iPhone

I have a massive amount of photos. It is difficult searching for past photos just scrolling in the Recents folder. I would like to search photos by date. I know the exact date of the photos I need. If I search on my iphone15 Pro in Library, it might give me the date I need, but only show 5 photos from that date, not all of them, so I'm stuck endlessly searching in Recents.

How do I easily search photos by date? Why can't I just type in or select calendar date?

What version of iOS are you using? The version shown below your post is rather old?

My iPhone, running iOS 17.5.1, searches for dates just fine. I type the date like "January 12 2023" (but without the quotes) in the Search field at the top of the Search section.
