I've been using a T7 SSD for several years to hold my library. It is formatted OS X Extended. I'm running Sonoma, which is at the same version 14 for many months. Never had a problem until now. Nothing has changed, but today it will not open. I've run Disk First Aid on the T7, but no problems. Is there a Photos library repair tool anywhere? There should be.

You don't say if you are using iCloud. If so, then the best bet may be to create a new Library and populate it from iCloud. If you need help with that, let us know.
There is a Library repair. Close Photos and re-launch by "option-command-clicking" the app icon, and telling the pop-up dialog to repair. It may take a few minutes. As always, it's good to have a backup of the Library before doing something like this.

Thanks Richard. I don't use iCloud for photos, but *do* have everything backed up on Flickr. Oddly, I shut down and restarted, after a day of fiddling with it all, and viola! It opened fine.
Could be the phase of the moon, or solar flares, I guess. But if I were you, I'd make a copy of the Photos Library as a backup, just in case...
130 GB is getting awfully large. Had you thought of dividing it up? I have "Old Family Pictures" in separate Libraries from Work and Recent. And I have a Favorites Library for ones I enjoy looking at. Things are faster.
You can make a copy of the big Library, and then just begin deleting stuff you don't want. It feels good. And, since you have a copy handy, you can always add stuff back if you have regrets. No guilt!
Ha…very well could be the sun…and/or the stars. Tricky part is my library is about 130GB. I think I’ve gotta buy another T7 SSD
That's a good idea. I know there are a lot of old shots in there that I rarely look at.
