Money is in child's newly set up Apple Cash account, but its getting declined

I’m going to provide contact information for an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank. The bank can see if the transaction was declined on their end or not. If Apple Cash can’t see the transaction then it was a merchant issue.

It could just be an issue with the transaction terminal or other equipment system issues at Six Flags.

Just an FYI, gas stations and convenience stores are also problematic at times. Larger merchants are a more reliable test of Apple Pay.

What exactly isn’t working? Does the merchant tell your daughter the transaction is declined or is it another issue? Does the iPhone have a case on it? Some cases interfere with the NFC signal that is used with Apple Pay, Tap-To-Pay etc.

From what I could find online, Six Flags might or might not accept Apple Pay. Some websites as recent as September 2023 say no, while others say yes. There also might be limited acceptance. They have kiosks to convert cash to a payment card. It could be that you have to use Apple Cash to convert the cash to one of their cards.

I’d call an Apple Cash specialist and see if they even see the transaction on their end.
