I just set up family sharing with my niece (15 years old) to send her money through apple cash, but it is saying that she can't receive it and that her Apple Cash is already enabled. Help!

My niece is 15, and can't use apple pay because she in under 18. I set up family sharing, so I can send her money through Apple Pay, but it is saying that her Apple Pay is already enabled and that she can't receive money at this time. What do I ( and her) need to do to do this process?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.6

Hi IDBYJJH,

The feature you're referring to sounds like Apple Cash Family. We'd first recommend looking through the requirements and tips in this article: Set up and use Apple Cash Family - Apple Support

Of particular note are the requirements here:

The family organizer that set up Family Sharing for your family group must use Apple Cash Family to set up Apple Cash for family members under the age of 18.

If you're the family organizer:
* When you set up your Apple Cash account, use the same Apple ID that you used to set up Family Sharing.
* At least one member of your family group must be under 18 years old.

Requirements for the organizer and members of the family group
* Own a compatible iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch with the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS.
* Sign in to iCloud on each family member's device using their Apple ID
* Turn on two-factor authentication for each Apple ID.
* Make sure that each device region is set to the United States.

Cheers!
