My Apple Watch Series 8 is black and will only come on if I tap the screen
I have to push the power button to see my watch every time. Other than that the screen is black. How do I fix this?

Perhaps "theater mode" is activated. Refer to Use Control Center on Apple Watch which explains how to user theater mode.
