Content Restrictions and YouTube

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Plus, both on iOS 17.4.1

I'm trying to set content restrictions for my child, but do not want to eliminate YouTube for him completely. Each time I activate Content Restrictions on my iPhone, it disappears the YouTube APP on his iPhone. Likewise, when we access YouTube.com on his phone (while I have restrictions activated), we get a notice that he can't access YouTube with his current account.

Is there a way to apply content restrictions without eliminating YouTube?

In order to have the YouTube app on your child's phone, the content restrictions need to allow apps for 12+.

No, because there is no way for iOS to filter Youtube content.

Thanks, Lawrence. I'm sorry I wasn't more clear.

I don't want iOS to filter YouTube. I can do that via the YouTube APP. I want iOS to filter other things and not disappear the YouTube APP. Is that possible?
