Why am I getting charged to update free apps?

I had to update 10 apps at once under my account, days later, there was this invoice from my bank that there was a charge, for example: a transaction of $17.78 from apple.com/bill. I don't know why there's a charge to update my apps, care to explain?

There is not a charge to update apps. You can review your previous purchase history and subscriptions using this link:

Subscriptions and Billing - Official Apple Support


Also to see what the charge is for, this is a more direct link:

If you see 'apple.com/bill' on your billing statement - Apple Support


If you are still unable to identify the charge, then contact Apple directly:
