I had to get a new iPhone. I set it up and logged in to iCloud. Everything is in iCloud, photos etc. Contacts have been transferred to my new phone.
How do I download my photos/files/notes on iCloud to
my new device?

Photos: Settings > [username] > iCloud > Photos > Sync this iPhone on.
Also, if you want to save space on the phone, turn on Optimize iPhone Storage in that setting.

Notes: Settings > [username] > iCloud > Show All > Notes - on.
